Tsurumi America Inc. (Tsurumi) has appointed Christopher Bristol as municipal product sales manager for North America. In this newly created role, Bristol will use his vast experience in the water and pump industry to support Tsurumi’s regional sales team and distribution network in the implementation of the company’s newest product line, the AVANT™ Series. The new FM-approved explosion-proof pump line was designed to deliver efficiency and cost savings on a wide range of wastewater projects, especially in municipal and commercial sewage systems.

“We’re very excited to have Chris onboard. As we expand our portfolio with a modern, explosion-proof product line, which will allow us to enter new markets, we needed a seasoned professional to help us employ it and identify opportunities in large projects with specific demands,” explained Glenn Wieczorek, managing director at Tsurumi. “Chris is a dynamic professional with long-standing experience in the pump industry, and his expertise will be crucial for us to develop and maintain relationships with our customers in North America.”

Bristol has more than 20 years of experience in sales management and business development — half of it spent in the pump industry, working for companies such as Xylem, Mueller and PS Pumps & Process. His appointment at Tsurumi has been effective since August 17.

“I’m honored to join the Tsurumi team and thrilled to work with the new AVANT™ Series. These pumps have top quality, innovative features that add great value to customers, and I am excited to show them off to the municipal and industrial markets,” Bristol said. “It’s fantastic to work with a company that has been in business for so long and has built a great reputation producing strong, reliable pumps.”

Launched in September, the new AVANT™ Series was certified in accordance with FM Global explosion-proof specifications. These pumps feature a modern design and IE3 premium efficiency motors that deliver high performance and withstand continuous duty cycles. Their exclusive closed-circuit cooling system utilizes a water-glycol mixture, which prevents contamination of the system while cooling the motor. Additionally, customers will be able to order tailor-made AVANT™ pumps from the factory, with specific configurations that match the demands of their jobs and boost results.

Bristol holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Finance and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York.
