Ben Houk is a Portable Product Sales Manager at Tsurumi Pump, and he has been with the company for more than four years. Houk’s primary responsibility is to work together with sales representatives to provide products for the construction, rental and water feature markets. Q: What duties does your job position entail?
As a Portable Product Sales Manager, my role entails building relationships with dealers looking to purchase our products for rental or retail. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some great store owners, purchasers, counter managers, and service technicians during my time at Tsurumi, and their enthusiasm for our products makes my job all the more enjoyable. Hearing about and seeing all the different job sites and applications our portable products are used in is a true testament to their durability and versatility. It’s rewarding to see the positive impact our products can have on the lives of our customers and end users.
Q: What does customer experience mean to you?
I have tons of experience working in the rental market; when working with rental customers, it is important to be a good listener. This means paying attention to feedback from store owners and end-users. Listening to their experiences and issues helps me to understand their day-to-day problems and needs better. With this understanding, I can explain the solutions that Tsurumi provides, and take their feedback to the factory to potentially address certain industry gaps.
Q: Do you have any hobbies outside of work?
I have a passion for fishing, pushing my limits at the gym or simply hanging out with friends and family. I value and prioritize quality time spent with loved ones. That’s a bit about me. I look forward to meeting you at the ARA Show in New Orleans!
