New submersible cutter pump advances Tsurumi’s proven cutter technology with enhanced solids handling and improved efficiency.
Tsurumi (America), Inc. officially launches its new BN Series Submersible Smashing Cutter pump at WEFTEC 2026, marking the North American debut of a new generation of Tsurumi cutter pump technology engineered to tackle some of the toughest clogging challenges in wastewater pumping.
As wastewater systems face increasing volumes of wipes, textiles, plastics, ropes and other difficult fibrous materials, operators continue to battle clogging, unplanned downtime and maintenance costs. The BN Series is designed to address these challenges while delivering the durability and reliability required for demanding municipal, commercial and industrial wastewater applications.
At the core of the BN Series is Tsurumi’s exclusive Smashing Cutter Mechanism. A unique heart-shaped suction cover works together with a semi-open channel impeller and extended rotating guide to capture, crush and shred solids and long fibrous materials before they can accumulate around the impeller or obstruct downstream piping.
Building on the proven performance of Tsurumi’s popular C Series Cutter Pump™, the BN Series represents the next evolution in Tsurumi’s cutter pump technology. The new series combines enhanced shredding and anti-clogging capabilities with improved efficiency, giving wastewater operators a more advanced solution while carrying forward the reliability that has made Tsurumi cutter pumps a trusted choice in the field.
The BN Series also incorporates proven Tsurumi technologies, including an anti-wicking cable entry, oil-lubricated dual silicon carbide mechanical seals, Tsurumi’s exclusive Oil Lifter, built-in thermal motor protection and an automatic air release valve.
Field installations have demonstrated the BN Series’ ability to significantly reduce clogging and maintenance requirements, helping operators improve system reliability while minimizing downtime. A back pull-out design simplifies inspection and maintenance.
