Tsurumi Pump is celebrating an important milestone — 40 years of business in the U.S. The pump manufacturer has seen tremendous growth since opening a location in Chicago, Illinois, 40 years ago. Tsurumi Pump will be marking the milestone with a yearlong celebration and has some significant plans to further grow its business in the market, including expanding the facility in Salt Lake City, Utah, to a 37,000 square foot warehouse, to better service customers in the western U.S.
“Over the last 40 years, we’ve grown from a little known pump manufacturer here in the U.S. to one of the leaders in the market,” said Glenn Wieczorek, managing director of Tsurumi Pump. “We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and we’re positioned for even more growth in the coming years, not only in our existing pump business, but in complementary areas where we can leverage our expertise.”
One of the things that Wieczorek said is in the planning stages is a philanthropic initiative to give back and provide support to the American market. It will focus on education, training and knowledge exchange in the engineering and pump technology areas. Tsurumi Pump has also started an initiative that enables employees to donate time during business hours to philanthropic work within the community, as well as hosting company events that encourage employees to volunteer on service projects centered on helping the environment.
“As we continue to grow as a business, we want to give back to the community and those who might be affected by our industry, especially focusing on education,” Wieczorek said. “As stewards of working with and managing water properly, we want to give back to society our knowledge and expertise to ensure our environment continues to be vibrant and protected.”
Tsurumi Pump is well-known for its sewage and wastewater pump line, where its cutter pump is one of the most popular pieces of equipment on the market. The company also boasts a submersible pump lines that can be deployed for applications in construction, mining and industrial sectors, as well as a process equipment line that can be deployed for a variety of uses across different industries, including the food processing and beverage industries.
“Our offering of equipment is expansive and can be deployed for nearly any job,” Wieczorek said. “We manufacturer pumps that are durable and powerful enough to handle most any application that our customers need. And we are working on what’s to come next that will help meet our customers’ demands.”
Tsurumi Pump is a subsidiary of Tsurumi Manufacturing Company, which is based in Osaka, Japan. The mother company is nearly a century old.
